We have done some manual counting of statistics on the Open Hardware Repository. There are 100 projects on ohwr: 52 hardware projects 39 HDL or Software projects 9 other projects There are eleven instititutes leading the different projects:

ohwr.org started with projects designed in Europe and soon it was followed by the RHINO project run in South Africa. Now also projects from Brazil and China are hosted on the site.

23-01-2012: Creotech produces 4 CERN OHR designs
The Polish company Creotech, that was already involved in the design of the SPEC PCIexpress FMC carrier, has decided to commercialise three Open Hardware designs that were initiated by CERN: SPEC, FMC ADC 100M 14b 4cha, the FMC DEL 1ns 4cha and the FMC DIO 5ch TTL a.

The article Open Hardware for CERN’s Accelerator Control Systems, by E. van der Bij et al, has been published in the Journal of Instrumentation JINST Vol.7, January 2012. It presents concisely the different aspects of CERN’s Open Hardware developments.
