ACCURATE 2A Evaluation Board

The ACCURATE 2A Evaluation Board is a development kit meant to ease the use and implementation of the CERN-developed ACCURATE 2A state-of-the-art ultra-low current measurement ASIC for new use cases.

The board can measure current down to the femtoampere range using two methods: the charge injection method via the FPGA or an ADC measuring the output of ACCURATE’s OTA. The measured current is sent to a microcontroller, which then displays it on both the desktop application and the onboard display.

The board is based on the Arduino-compatible Microchip Atsam D21 and a Lattice iCE40 Ultra FPGA. It includes extendability in the form of Arduino shields and two PMODs. It also incorporates an OLED display on the board and a temperature and humidity sensor.

The PCB communicates over USB using USB-To-Serial. A desktop application was developed to visualize the current measurements live and export the data to CSV format.
