WR Switch firmware v7.0 release

Dear Rabbits,

Following the months of preparation, the WRS firmware v7.0 is now released!

We would like to invite you to download, validate it in your installations and ultimately update your switches with it.

Among various exciting new features and bugfixes this new release includes:

  • Support of High Accuracy PTP Profile
  • Support for HA/WR autonegotiation
  • Script for automation of calibration
  • Annex in documentation on input signals requirements when in GM mode
  • New gateware and new calibration values (including: re-measured alpha, corrections for more SFPs)
  • Support to overwrite PTP version (2.0 or 2.1)
  • Fix of wrong behaviour of BMCA with redundant passive links
  • Support for aligning the PPS out to PPS input in GM (runtime and via dot-config)
  • Support for WRS-FL (from SyncTechnology)
  • More OIDs and update WR-SWITCH-MIB.txt
  • Support for firmware build on ubuntu 22.04 (for ubuntu 24.04 see bug #323)
  • Improvements in wr_mon
  • CLI tool for runtime reconfiguration of PPSi (subset of PTP parameters)
  • CLI tool for runtime reconfiguration of hal (PPS-in-out delay)
  • Bugfix to prevent setting ports to slave in GM mode
  • Bugfix of jumbo frames dropped after a particular rate
  • Dot-config converter from 6.x to 7.0 (does not update ingress/egress/t24p calibration values), available on WRS (dot-config_converter_6_x_to_7_0.sh command), in wr-switch-sw repo or as standalone tool

wrs-user-manual was updated with the description of new functionality and the new configuration items in dot-config.
