07-09-2010: Schematics review held

The third schematics review of the Simple PCI Express FMC carrier has been held. Some improvements and simplifications of the schematics are required, after which the PCB layout can be started.

08-09-2010: Testing continues

The ADC board is extensively being tested. The harmonics problem seen was actually caused by the signal generator used. The I2C bus is tested and accessing the EEPROM memory, setting the sampling frequency and making temperature measurements are now possible.

4-08-2010: The board is working

Since mid July we have one board plugged in on Xilinx development kit and powered. Two channels are working as limited by Xilinx development kit clock connections (we’ll change our FMC connections on a V2 to cope with this).

22-07-2010: Test board validated

The test board and the software has been validated. It is now ready to accept the first version of the NanoFIP code to start testing the WorldFIP functionality.

The Open Source Hardware Draft v0.3 is out. This license was produced by the holders of the Open Source Hardware Summit. The estimated date for the release of v1.0 is September the 24th 2010.
