The nic driver is currently sending and receiving packets (I mean, the vhdl part does it, the driver not yet. However, it’s not committed yet, as I’m working on it.

Thanks everybody for your support, and specially Tim from Gennum for his tips. The GN4124 is now listed under the PCI modules. We have no problems accessing the configuration space, everything seems to be running really smoothly.

11-11-2010: First 3 prototypes powered up!!
The first 3 prototype arrived this afternoon from the assembly office. The boards powered up correctly from a desktop power supply. QDRII, Spartan6 and GN4124 were easily recognized by impact running on a Windows machine.
Gennum GN4124 core
Beta version ready!
The beta version has been tested on a Gullwing development board from Gennum. For testing purpose, one 8KB RAM is connected as a slave on the DMA wishbone. Two slaves are connected to the CSR wishbone.
DDR3 controller for Spartan6
First prototype of the core available
The prototype of the DDR3 controller is based on the SP605 development kit from Xilinx. It is available in the SVn repository.
RHINO
Rhino layout complete and ready for review!
It has been a challenge, but we finally managed to complete the Rhino layout; thanks to a great effort by the team. The board ended up with 14 layers, a few more than we originally anticipated, but that is to be expected when most of the routes were targeted impedance, length matched and differential.

09-11-2010: 1st board powered...
The 1st prototype has been powered. 3 DC/DC (Vadj2, V1.5 and Vadj1) are not working. A cold soldering has been detected on one of the FB resistors. Re-soldering it didn’t solve the problem.
