Production Test Suite
08.2011: Hello world!
The first version of the Production Test Suite environment has been published today! At the present time, the environment is focused in testing SPEC boards but there are plans to add tests for more boards in the near future.
RHINO
Some Updates
It has been a while since I last added a news item. The Rhino project has still been moving along at a steady albeit slow (part time) effort. The first version of Rhino had a few minor bugs which we fixed in version 1.
VME FMC Carrier VFC
16-08-2011: Schematics for V2 reviewed
Four designers have reviewed the schematics design of the V2 of the VFC card. The suggested changes will be integrated and will improve the design and manufacturability. By the end of August a new layout will be made.

10-08-2011: V2 schematics ready for review
The schematics have been updated to cover most of the issues found during the sprint. We will hold a review in the coming week.

09-08-2011: Successful Data Acquisition
There has been successful data acquisition on all input channels of the current 100ksps 16bit ADC FMC. The FMC now requires some redesign to ensure its full compliance with the FMC standard, however the current FMC shall be suitable for testing and further developing the firmware.

Preliminary design of the data path done
The basic data path of the time to digital converter (TDC) core is now designed. It consists of delay line based on a tapped carry chain, encoder (both leading + falling edges of the input signal are reported) and LUT (dual-port block RAM that serves to translate the raw encoded output of the delay line to a calibrated fixed point value).
VXS DSP FMC carrier
02-08-2011 VXS-DSP-FMC Carrier V1 Prototype fab. launched
The PCB layout of the VXS-DSP-FMC Carrier V1 prototype (EDMS: EDA-02281-V1.0) has been finished on July 21th 2011. The layout process had been started march 18th 2011 but was initially found to be unroutable due to excessive real-estate usage.

OHWR maintenance on 2011-08-05 (Friday)
